The main objective of the “EAR” project is to contribute decreasing traffic of waste trucks which at the end results in less air pollution in the city of Sarajevo.
Sarajevo is beggining its transformation into the smart city. Along with smart traffic, smart lighting, and smart energy, smart waste is an integral part of any smart city.
The solution presented by EAR Project is fully in line with idea of smart city and it has direct benefits on all: citizens using waste bins, waste collectors, and all the way up to policy makers.
The main objective of the "EAR" project is to contribute decreasing traffic of waste trucks which at the end results in less air pollution in the city of Sarajevo. By installing CleanCubes at a few selected locations in the Municipality Stari Grad the project will enable disposal of bigger rubbish quantities with lower frequency of collections and prevent inefficent collections.
In addition, the "EAR" objective aims to raise awwareness of selected beneficiaries on a need for more extensive use of self sustainable energy like solar energy is.
Clean Cube is a solar-powered trash compactor which can hold up to 8 times more waste compared to non-compacting bins, reducing colllection frequency by up to 80%.
It is compatible with standard 120L and 240L wheelie bins for easy and safe trash remova.
Melbourne Case Study reveals that since deployment of Clean Cubes in early 2018, the city has been able to dramatically lower its collection frequency, quickly remedy overflow, and maximize efficiency by identifying times, seasons, and area with high levels of waste. CleanCUBESs have helped the city uphold the highest standard of living for its residents.
The "EAR" is a pilot project that will target a city area entirely within Municipality of Stari Grad with 5 specific localities for insalling Clean Cubes. The localities are:
